Only&Sons Launch Party

Instagram: martinamartiala

Quick hello before I run out the door again! Thursday after filming another music video I went to the Bestseller's new menswear brand Only&Sons launch party. The food was amazing and I got to check my childhood dream by making cotton candy myself and not having parents around to ban me from eating 4 of them.. It was a beautiful, warm summer day that ended into a crazy night out with great people!

Late Night Fun!

Some pics from the party we went to after the Indiedays Blog Awards! Such a super night out, we really didn't give a damn about anything else than having fun with our group of friends until we couldn't dance anymore and had to literally drag ourselves home :D

Pari party-kuvaa Indiedays Awards illan jälkeisistä bileistä Le Bonkissa! Oli aivan mahtava ilta ja superhauskaa päästä juhlimaan vanhan kaveriporukan kanssa pitkästä aikaa :)

HOW to Style: Ballerina Dress

Three ways to style the tulle dress. Which one is your favourite? :)

Kolme tapaa stailata tyllimekko. Onko teillä omaa lempparia? :)

1.

In the City.
White tee, leather jacket and hat takes the cuteness out of the dress, and gives it a bit of edge.

                                                                      Kaupunkiin.
Valkoinen t-paita, nahkatakki ja hattu ottavat sopivasti "söpöyttä" pois mekosta, ja antavat sille city-särmää.

2.

To School.
Oversized boyfriend sweatshirt, boots, and cap makes it perfectly dressed down but still trendy for school!

Kouluun.
Ylisuuri svetari, buutsit, ja lippis ovat sopivan relaxed koulua varten.

3.

Party.
Heels, a blazer, some strong lipstick and a nice hairdo makes this dress perfect for the night aswell!

Bileisiin.
Korkkarit, huulipuna ja kiva kampaus loihtii tästä mekosta täydellisen iltaakin varten!

5-minute Chain Hairdos.

Style 1: Ballerina-Queen.

Style 2: Messy Chain-Bun.

Please ignore my HUGE forhead ;)

I DIYed this chain hairdo already at Stockholm Fashion Week, but I didn't manage to snap a picture back then so I thought I'd share it now! Originally, I had attached three different size gold chain to haircombs, but since my hair is so typically scandinavian and very thin, on my hair the chain-hairdo works better with the chains attached to normal bobbypins. This way you can also use the chains with much more variety. So easy, so cheap- so chic!

New Years Eve

This is what our New Years Eve looked like in my camera (even if I didn't take any pictures myself haha!) A NON-boring couples dinner and get-together! It was raining at 12 when we went to shoot fireworks and we were soaking wet but oh so happy! :D Good food and great wine, and even better company makes an unforgettable night!

Sequin Pants.

I got these sequin pants secondhand shopping this week and decided to wear them with my DIYed fake fur power shoulder jacket for a Michael Jackson inspired look! The occasion was the VIP-opening party for the brand new shopping center in Kuopio, Finland, for which I have done the fashion part of their exclusive customer magazine. We had lots of wine and browsed through the shops, and the next day I was personal shopping and styling three winners with clothes from several shops! Such exhausting two days, tonight I'll finally be back in Stockholm and tomorrow I'm styling a shoot I've been planning for soooo long! Can't wait!

FINALLY!

Today has been the BEST mail-day ever!!! I got the result of what i've been working on for almost two months... The exclusive customer magazine for a new shopping center in Kuopio!! I've been working on every single fashion or design-related article in the whole magazine, including the planning and styling for the cover and the main-editorial.

It's been sweaty and teary and HECTIC at times, hunting down the right contacts at every fashion brand that will be opening in the mall, asking for product pictures, spending hours trying to pull things together since everyone always delievers in a different time, but FINALLY it's all paid off and I have the result in my hand!!
Even if the goal here was to create something more mainstream that works for a larger  target group than high fashion does, (and what my personal taste and style is), I can't tell you when I've felt this satisfied last time :) so so happy!

The main editorial was about the holiday season's IT partywear. It was shot by super talented Rikard Lilja. Makeup by the sweetest Madeleine Oxalaryd. Model Polina/Nouveau Models. Best assistants ever Martin and Laura!  ♥

what to wear?

Tomorrow night we´re attending the premiere of a new swedish movie my boyfriend did the official photography for. It's so nice to see your loved ones work in advertisements all over Sweden! :)

Anyway, it's going to be first the movie, then a nice after-party with drinks and food! I'm still clueless about what to wear, it shouldn't be to overdressed since it's not a gala, but not too underdressed either...
I have an issue with looking very elegant (or more elegant than others at least that would be a nightmare), and I really should try to get over it! I just feel it's nicer to get looks from people when you look edgy or very different, instead of elegant..that's just not who i am! Anyone ever felt the same?
