Cake and cava And fashion

Today has been a fashion/makeup filled day! Checked out the beeeeautiful exclusive collection for swedish high-street brand Gina Tricot accompanied by tea and a rather fancy breakfast, then headed to check out the new line and re-branding of one of my favourite makeup brands Make Up Store (Swedes really know their shit huh!?). I have to take time to make a beauty-related post soon, I have so many new favourite daily makeup-products I've been using.

Sitten oli vuorossa Make Up Storen tilaisuus jossa esiteltiin brändin uusi tuotelinja ja uudet pakkaukset (kaikki tunnistavat varmasti Make Up Storen pyöreät luomiväripakkaukset, joiden tilalle tulevat seuraavan vuoden sisällä aivan uudenlaiset neliön muotoisen pakkaukset!) mutta lisää tästä myöhemmin. Pitääkin varata aikaa kunnon beauty-postaukseen niin esittelen pari uutta ihan lemppari-kauneustuotetta joita käytän päivättäin. Kivaa keskiviikkoa<3

How to: Dye Your Hair at Home.

Instagram: martinamartiala
Colour after 1 wash.

So, here are the steps I followed to get this ombré-ish messy punk haircolour! Basicly what you first need, is an attitude that no matter what happens, you will rock this new hairdo. Confidence is key! ;)

I used the Crestol Fantasy colour Funky Purple, since I wanted a colour that was in between violet and pink. The colour scared me at first since it's reeeally dark, but it is easy to lighten up with conditioner.

;) Confidence is key!

Step 1: Make sure your hair is clean and shampooed, but not conditioned. Mix the colour in a plastic bowl with conditioner to get the shade you want. The colour now is going to be almost exactly as it will look on your hair when it's dry and ready so keep that in mind! Also, it's good that the conditioner is a really basic one, not a super treating, repairing or other. And make sure to wear gloves, this colour stained really easily!

2. I started with my ends and a slightly midtone shade. 10minutes and It came out such a delicious berry-colour, sorry for the bad iphone picture!  I dried my hair to see the final colour, mixed another set with even more conditioner and a drop of colour, and applied it to the whole hair from roots to ends, kept the colour for only two minutes. Just applying it with the hands and not combing it through made it a more natural, messy colour, and the two-fase application made it a cool ombré!

This was the result. Quite bright but only after one wash it turned out like on the first picture. It's nice since you definitely don't get bored while to colour keeps changing from wash to wash!

5-minute Chain Hairdos.

Style 1: Ballerina-Queen.

Style 2: Messy Chain-Bun.

Please ignore my HUGE forhead ;)

I DIYed this chain hairdo already at Stockholm Fashion Week, but I didn't manage to snap a picture back then so I thought I'd share it now! Originally, I had attached three different size gold chain to haircombs, but since my hair is so typically scandinavian and very thin, on my hair the chain-hairdo works better with the chains attached to normal bobbypins. This way you can also use the chains with much more variety. So easy, so cheap- so chic!

Natural Skincare.

In winter, my typical Finnish skin starts looking tired, grey, and dry. Might be because we sometimes have -20degrees here in wintertime, might be because a a quite normal skintype here is very delicate and thin.

For about a month now, I've been trying an all-natural skincare method. Instantly, after the first day I felt my skin was softer, more flexible and the colour was healthy and vivid!

My daily routine include:

Morning:
Wash with a splash of water, then pad on some rosewater. Moisturize with olive oil.

Evening:
I gently take off all makeup with avokado oil, and remove the access dirt with cottonpads.
I then use a tiny drop of olive oil for moisturizing.

A couple of times a week:
Ecological honey. A teaspoon is enough, gently scrubbing the face and then wash off with water. You can add a bit of sugar and a drop of lemon if you want to make it a peeling mask!

All these products are completely natural and organic, you can find most of them in normal supermarkets, and what's best: they are cheap (!) and FILLED with vitamins and stuff our skin so desperately needs! 100% pure, clean and good for you.

Avocado oil and Rosewater

Even e greasy skin that easily gets spots can get better with oils. Why? Grease and fat disolves fat.
The key is finding the oil that works just for your skin, as there are semi-fat oils and fat oils.
Right now, since it's winter I'm using a really fat oil, the Olive oil one. Easy, because I also use it for cooking, so I just filled a plastic cosmetic-container with it to keep in my bathroom.

Semi-fat oils include jojoba or almond oil. Remember to not use oils with ingredients to which you are allergic to! And greasier skintypes, use apple vinegar mixed with water as a tonic for the face!

Tip:
Slices of cucumber or Camomille teabags that have been in the fridge for a while are GREAT for puffy eyes and dark circles.

Hope you got some good tips! It really helped my skin so I hope it does the same for you.

Pastel Frenchie.

Sorry for the absolutely terrible pic, once again I was traveling without my computer and had only Instagram to forever my small everyday-creations. I was feeling positive, so instead of the boring, formal white french manicure (I hate) I decided to make a multi-pastel one! I can imagine it would be cool to make them in a glitter black aswell, that'll be my next thing.
For this one I used mixed pastel colours from H&M, Kiko and Lumene, plus a base coat and a wonderful, rose shade from YSL. Totally in love with that one, it works wonderfully even by itself!

Inspiration: Flapper Hair

I've always wanted to try this hairstyle! I can imagine it with my worn-out boyfriend jeans and a white tee to create that lovely contrast between elegant and casual... and it doesn't look too hard to do either! :) I'll post the result as soon as I try it!

Fall's number one trend: Leather.

Finnish model Suvi Koponen photographed by Craig McDean for Vogue UK September.
This smooth, silky editorial got me by storm, Suvi's perfect skin and shiny hair is definately going to be my inspiration this winter. Combined with the strong leather pieces such as the bowtie and the cap, this is surely going to show the way in this seasons accessories.

braided.

I'm slightly obsessed with braids right now.. the keep the hair in place, it's comfortable, versatile..

You can find heaps of good tutorials for braiding on youtube, i'll post some later with my own version!
