DIY: Chain Garter

Forget about bracelets this summer, this season it's all about LEGS!
This DIY took me about 15 minutes to make, all you need are some chains, tweezers, elastic band and some small rings. As you can see in the middle picture I attached the chains to a simple black elastic band which I sew together as the garter. Can't wait to rock these with my ripped denim shorts.
What do you think? Would you guys wear this too? :)

Unohtakaa rannekorut tänä kesänä, tällä kaudella kaikki huomio on JALOISSA!

Natural Skincare.

In winter, my typical Finnish skin starts looking tired, grey, and dry. Might be because we sometimes have -20degrees here in wintertime, might be because a a quite normal skintype here is very delicate and thin.

For about a month now, I've been trying an all-natural skincare method. Instantly, after the first day I felt my skin was softer, more flexible and the colour was healthy and vivid!

My daily routine include:

Morning:
Wash with a splash of water, then pad on some rosewater. Moisturize with olive oil.

Evening:
I gently take off all makeup with avokado oil, and remove the access dirt with cottonpads.
I then use a tiny drop of olive oil for moisturizing.

A couple of times a week:
Ecological honey. A teaspoon is enough, gently scrubbing the face and then wash off with water. You can add a bit of sugar and a drop of lemon if you want to make it a peeling mask!

All these products are completely natural and organic, you can find most of them in normal supermarkets, and what's best: they are cheap (!) and FILLED with vitamins and stuff our skin so desperately needs! 100% pure, clean and good for you.

Avocado oil and Rosewater

Even e greasy skin that easily gets spots can get better with oils. Why? Grease and fat disolves fat.
The key is finding the oil that works just for your skin, as there are semi-fat oils and fat oils.
Right now, since it's winter I'm using a really fat oil, the Olive oil one. Easy, because I also use it for cooking, so I just filled a plastic cosmetic-container with it to keep in my bathroom.

Semi-fat oils include jojoba or almond oil. Remember to not use oils with ingredients to which you are allergic to! And greasier skintypes, use apple vinegar mixed with water as a tonic for the face!

Tip:
Slices of cucumber or Camomille teabags that have been in the fridge for a while are GREAT for puffy eyes and dark circles.

Hope you got some good tips! It really helped my skin so I hope it does the same for you.

Late Night Meal.

After stuffing myself with turkey and ham the whole Christmas, I am definately having a vegetarian month in January. Well, almost vegetarian since my boyfriend sometimes craves the lasagne I make or an occasional bacon&eggs sunday breakfast ;)

I've been home alone tonight, so I took all the time in the world to carefully select groceries at the store, and making a long-cooking delicious vegetarian soup! And, incredibly I'm also posting about it here :D Haven't done food-posts before so please tell me what you think!!

You need:
Cherry Tomatoes
Jar of ecological Peeled or Crushed tomatoes
Garlic
Yellow Onion
Basil, Sugar, Thyme, Blackpepper
Olive oil
Vegetable Broth
Cream
Chevré or Feta Cheese

Roast the cherry tomatoes with some garlic and olive oil in the oven for about 10 minutes. It gives the soup a more deep flavour! Take the chopped onion and fry it in olive oil, thyme and basil until it softens. If you fry the seasoning with the garlic, it gives a strong flavour to the soup! Throw in the cherry tomatoes, the peeled tomatoes, a cup of water (and a dash of white wine if you happen to have it at home), a spoon of sugar and some vegeatble broth. You can also add some chopped garlic. Let it boil softly for 20-30minutes. Then mix the soup with a blender, add some cream and let it boil for another 5minutes. Garnish with more basil and thyme, Chevré Cheese and serve with bread! YUM!!

I also made some homemade croissants with cheese to follow (and some with chocolate for dessert!)

DIY Studded shoes

These DIY studded shoes are so easy to make, just takes a little bit of patience and time.
I decided I wanted a sporty shoe for this DIY, also the fabric of the shoe was soft enough to facilitate the making of the holes.

First just take a white pen (i used a make-up pencil), and mark where you want the studs. Take in consideration how big the stud is, depending on how close to eachother you want the studs.

Make a hole either with the machine you use for adding holes to leather belts,
or a nail, and attach the studs. Voilá!

DIY Thread Belt

I saw a picture of this DIY somewhere on the internet (I'm sorry I can't remember what site I found it on!) and it's a great way to pimp up an old belt! I'm a big fan of recycling, and I love that I be excited about wearing something old I haven't worn for ages.

All you need for this easy DIY is cotton thread, an old belt, and some glue to attach the thread at the beginning and the end.
Start by making a double knot with the thread, then carefully twist the thread around the belt (leave the ends of the thread on the backside, so when you twist the thread it covers everything). You can do the whole belt in one colour or change like i did.
