Castañer DIY: Glitter Espadrilles

Shoes/Castaner (DIY), Jeans/Levis's (DIY)

Here's a glimpse of the DIY I did together with the iconic Spanish espadrille-brand Castañer in Hong Kong. Already when I was living in Barcelona I got familiar with this brand and their hand-made shoes, so it was a great experience to put my own twist on their espadrilles with a DIY! 

Since for me DIY:ing is all about transforming stuff in an easy way that doesn't need very special materials or skills, I went for this golden glittery design (that by the way shimmers so nicely in sunlight!) 

All you need is:

 -Glue (fabric glue or leather glue works best)

-Glitter 

-Paintbrush

And a little patience ;) 

I used a glue which required another coat on top of the glitter, but it keeps on super well and even stayed on perfectly after a rainy night in Hong Kong!

Eli tässä syy Hong Kongin matkaani! Pääsin suunnittelemaan Espanjalaiselle espadrillos-merkille oman DIY-versioni heidän ajattomista kengistään. Koska tilaisuus järjestettiin Aasiassa heidän kaupan avauksen yhteydessä, sieltä puolelta maapalloa toivottiin projektistani mahdollisimman eleganttia. Halusin kuitenkin tehdä kengistä samalla hauskat ja pirteät, joten päädyin tähän glitteriversioon! 

Itse ajattelen että do-it-yourself projektien pitäisi olla helppoja, eikä hirveän erikoisia materiaaleja tai taitoja vaativia. Tällaisien kenkien tekemiseen minulle meni noin tunti, ja niihin tarvitaan:

-Pehmeä pensseli

-Liimaa (nahka- tai kangasliimat toimivat parhaiten) 

-Kimalletta 

Sekä hieman kärsivällisyyttä ;)

Minä käytin näiden puuhastelussa liimaa joka tarvitsi vielä yhden kerroksen kimalteen päälle, mutta se on pysynyt käytössä aivan mahtavasti (jopa sateisen Hong Kong-yön jälkeen!)

Ahhh the shops are filling up with autumn-goodies and I can't help but embrace them all even though it's over 20degrees warm and super sunny! I love the fall colours in this summery environment, makes the colours stand out so much more. My new white babies are from Topshop, the rubber heel makes them extra comfortable so I can run around in them all day long hooray! This weekend we visited my bf:s family in Sweden and witnessed his sister's son get baptized, he's such a little cutie!

Iiiiiik kaupan hyllyt täyttyvät jo syys-ihanuuksilla ja mä en pysty vastustamaan kaikkia syötäviä syksyisiä värejä vaikka aurinko paistaakin. Mutta tällä säällä nämä värit erottuvat vielä paremmin ympäristöstä vai mitä? :) Mun uudet valkoiset beibit ovat Topshopista, kumikoron ansiosta voin juosta niillä ympäri kaupunkia vaikka koko päivän, woop woop! Käytiin poikkiksen perheen luona Ruotsissa nyt viikonloppuna hänen siskonpojan kastajaisissa, niiiiiin hirmusöpö pikkupoika!

Some details from yesterdays Zalando presentation! I fell mostly for the shoes (my eternal weekness), but they also had some great designers like Rodebjer and BACK, not to forget about the their own Zalando-label. Silver and gold details are still going storng both in shoes, accessories and clothing! The furry striped sweater with golden knit is a must-have!

Pari detail-kuvaa eilisestä Zalando-mallistonesittelystä! Rakastuin eritysiseti kenkiin (ikuinen heikkoukseni), mutta näytteillä oli myös paljon ihania vaatemerkkejä kuten Rodebjer, BACK ja Zalandon oma mallisto. Kulta ja hopea näkyy edelleen vahvasti niin kengissä, asusteissa kuin vaatteissakin. Toisen kuvan pörröinen raidallinen neule on aivan pakko saada!

This Spring/Summer it's all bout the flats! I gathered my online-favourites in this collage, I'm totally imagining all of these with white jeans and a white t-shirt in spring.
Studs are still in the picture, as are metallics! I even grew on liking the rubber shoes from Chicnova, allthough they sligthly remind me of hospital shoes with a twist... oh well! Got yourself a favourite?
Mine are the cutout shoes from DSW or the cool golden ones from Asos!

Tänä keväänä/kesänä laitan korot piiloon ja keskityn mataliin kenkiin! Keräsin tähän kollaasiin omat online-suosikit tältä sesongilta. Pystyn niin kuvittelemaan jokaiset näistä kokovalkoisen farkku-tpaita lookin kanssa ah!
Niitit ovat näköjään vieläkin mukana trendeissä, ja kiiltävä metalli myös! Alan jopa tottua Chicnovan valkoisiin muovikenkiin vaikka ne muistuttavat heikosti tuunattuja sairaalakenkiä...

My Beloved Daily Four

I'm packing for Stockholm, going to move there for a little while.. It is so hard to pack when you don't know how and if the weather is suddenly going to change! Besides, I wake up every morning feeling like dressing with a different style...how am I supposed to pack??
I started with basics, and SHOES. Theese are my four absolut favourite everyday shoes. I got a package waiting for me in Stockholm with two pair of heels from Nelly.com, so I made the hard decision to leave both my Jeffrey Campbells at home. Sigh!
I will be needing a lot of big warm knits which are going to occupy a lot of space in my bag, so for the bottoms I had to keep things quite simple: one pair of dark jeans, one pair of highwaisted black jeans, my burgundy ones, and some skirts and shorts that can be tucked in somewhere where there's space.

I'm bringing a lot of beanies, hats, caps and accessories to bring variety to my wardrobe, 3 coats and a blazer,  and so on, I'll show you everything later on when I've unpacked tomorrow! xx

Couldn't resist..

 

Just clicked these two babies home. I ordered them both since I'm unsure on which ones will fit best with the rest of my closet, that way I can try them on at home and then just return the other pair. I am more excited about the second one though, I LOVE the thin strap around the foot!

They are both from the label Nowhere on nelly.se. I am truly in love with the brand, it's clean, simple and minimalistic! And now everything is enormously discounted aswell, I am so amazed that all these stunning items haven't sold out yet!

I'm a big fan of Vagabond since I always put comfort first, and 80% of their shoes are the most comfortable shoes you will ever try! Good for working and walking around the city.

DIY Studded shoes

These DIY studded shoes are so easy to make, just takes a little bit of patience and time.

I decided I wanted a sporty shoe for this DIY, also the fabric of the shoe was soft enough to facilitate the making of the holes.

First just take a white pen (i used a make-up pencil), and mark where you want the studs. Take in consideration how big the stud is, depending on how close to eachother you want the studs.

   

 

Make a hole either with the machine you use for adding holes to leather belts, 

or a nail, and attach the studs. Voilá!

new shoes!

These babies will be my new summer companions! I love that it's a sporty tennis-shoe design but it's still very girly. I also especially like the mix of materials, the powder pink leather imitation with the shiny sole. <3 I can already see them with high waisted denim shorts and over-the-knee socks!
I changed the shoelaces to these simple white ones though, the original ones we're horrible!

I feel my skin is too light to wear red close to my face, but I REALLY want a red bottom for this summer: shorts, skirt, pants, or maybe shoes?
This summer I wanna see red combined with colours! light pink, orange, purple, blue and white!
Oh and I absolutely re-fell in love with the Bottega Veneta leather pants!So I just had to buy some beautiful fake red leather i found the other day..

Micam Milan!

Tonight after work I´m taking the train from Turin to Milan since i´m working at the biggest shoe-fair (MICAM) in Italy on sunday!

I´m excited cus I get paid just for trying on luxury brand shoes haha! Sometimes it´s an advantage to have a size 36 in shoes :)

I´m working there until wednesday so i´ll be updating my blog next week thursday!

My jaw just dropped to the floor when i saw these amazing new shoes for the summer 2011 collection by Jeffrey Cambpell! A little vintage, but oh so modern...
my favorites are the powder pink/wooden ones, plus the black ones with the leather/velvet combo!!
