Indiedays goes DIY: Cateye Sunglasses

Jeejee, Indiedays viettää nyt maaliskuussa INDIEDAYS GOES DIY-kuukautta, jonka aikana 18 suosittua bloggaajaa postaavat parhaimmat DIY-ideansa pukeutumiseen ja kotiin osoitteessa http://diy.indiedays.com/. 

Itse halusin ehdottomasti tehdä DIY-version jostain muotiviikoilla bongaamalleni trendille, ja monen kivan DIY-idean joukosta päädyin tuunaamaan Cateye-aurinkolasit. Tästä tulikin älyttömän helppo ja nopea DIY!


So the Finnish blogportal Indiedays.com is organizing a DIY-month during March! How fun is that?! 18 popular bloggers will show their coolest fashion and interior-ideas at http://diy.indiedays.com/.

I wanted to make a DIY from one of the trends seen at the fashion weeks, and after looking through heaps of inspiration pics I chose to make some Cateye-sunnies!

Tarvitset siis:                                  What you need for this DIY:
-Aurinkolasit                                   -Sunglasses 
-Nahkaa                                          -Leather
-Paperia ja sakset                           -Paper and scissors
-Superliimaa                                    -Glue

Valitsin tähän simppelit mustat (a.k.a vähän tylsät :P ) aurinkolasit. Aloitin piirtämällä cateye-muodon paperille. Kannattaa kokeilla paperin muotoa ensin lasien päällä, niin saa suoraan leikattua nahasta oikean mallisen ja kokoisen palan.

I chose black, simple (a.k.a a bit boring :P ) sunnies for this DIY. You start by drawing the shape on some paper, then trying it out on the sunglasses to get exactly the shape you want. Then use the piece to trace it on the leather.

Liimaa nahkapala lasien reunaan ja voilá, valmista on! Jätä varmuuden vuoksi lasit kuivumaan yön yli.

Glue it to the frame and voilá! I left it to dry overnight so it will stick on properly.

Näistä voisi hyvin tehdä paljon hauskoja eri versioita, esim. hopeanvärisestä muovista tai metallista! Oli pakko heti ostaa toiset valkoiset lasit jotka aivan varmasti teen samalla taktiikalla. Sky is the limit ;) Nyt on myös kokonainen kansio täynnä DIY-inspoa muotiviikoilta, eli tulen ehdottomasti tekemään seuraavien viikkojen aikana vielä pari muuta tutorialia! :)

Another throwback from the fashion weeks! I just recieved these from Zhi-Wei, who was snapping streetstyle shots in London for lookbook.nu. So fun to look back at these photos now, especially since winter is back in Finland and we have a terrible snow-blizzard here. Could summer just come already?!

London, Milan, Barcelona, Paris!

Huhhh täällä blogissa kaikuu tyhjyydestä! Terveiset Oslon lentokentältä, olen palaamassa vihdoinkin kolmen pitkän viikon jälkeen takaisin kotiin. Olen blogannut Cosmopolitanille muotiviikoilta (voitte lukea kaikki postaukset täällä), siksi oma blogini oli jäänyt hetkeksi tauolle.

Quick hello and sorry for the long absence on the blog. I've been reporting on behalf of Cosmopolitan Finland from London, Milan and Paris fashion weeks (you can see all the posts here) and I haven't had one spare minute to blog here between shows, capturing streetstyles, seeing friends and going to amazing parties! Promise I'll make it up to you with a huge package of outfit-pics in the next days :)
Meanwhile I was nominated in the category of Best Fashion Blog in the finnish Aussie Awards, yay!! So happy and surprised, as well as so very flattered.

End of Paris Fashion Week!

Soooo sorry for the terrible blog-updating, those of you who follow me on instagram might already have seen I had a hard week at work and still decided to run away to Paris for the weekend! It was my first time at the Mode Paris and I am absolutely in love with the people, city, atmosphere that the Paris Fashion Week offers. This was my look yesterday while going to the Elie Saab show, picked the comfy card and chose rubber heels and an oversized sweater!


Pahoitteut taas että blogipostaukset ovat niin vähissä, oli todella rankka viikko töissä ja päätin viime hetkellä paeta Pariisin muotiviikolle viikonlopuksi! Oli aivan mahtavat kolme päivää täynnä juhlia, tapaamisia ja näytöksiä, Paris je t'aime! Tässä eilinen asu, olin menossa katsomaan Elie Saab:in couture näytöstä. Mukavuus ennen kaikkea, kumikorot, Marimekon oversized villapaita ja eikun menoksi :)

This was my outfit for today! I changed my flights from this morning until monday, yay! Pics from the other days are coming up later :) It's been reeeeally hot and sweaty here, had to rethink my outfits from my suitcase for a moment. So many parties and fun stuff to do I have little time to update at the moment, please be patient! xx

Fall Inspiration: Tiger Of Sweden

Why can't it be fall already?? Going back to see the F/W Fashion Weeks I just can't wait to start layering stuff in yummy yummy fall colours and cool materials. The Tiger of Sweden show is basically my F/W dream dressing.
I made a collage for you guys of my own to-buy-list for this fall!

Miksei voi olla jo syksy?? Kauheaa valittaa ihanasta kesästä mutta selailin taas muotiviikkojen F/W näytöksiä ja tekee mieli kietoutua ihaniin, syötävän värisiin materiaaleihin ja pukeutua kerroksittain... Tiger of Swedenin näytös on pähkinänkuoressa unelma-lookkini. Alla pieni kollaasi syksyn to-buy listastani!

Tokyo Fashion Week Soldier.

First day at Tokyo Fashion Week! I had organized a surprise birthdayparty for my boyfriend at a local izakaya (place you go to have food and especially drink BEER!) so we were preeeetty hangover today. Hence the sunnies ;) I tried painting my hair with chalk, it worked! So now I have a purple dip dye for a while wippiee! Btw, ths is the amazing Anna Sui vintage faux fur-skirt I found the other week!! It was a real bargain!

Eka Tokyo Fashion Week päivä takana! Olin järjestänyt yllätys synttärijuhlat rakkaalle poikaystävälleni eilen paikallisessa izakayassa (baarimainen paikka jonne mennään syömään mutta enimmäkseen juomaan halpaa OLUTTA) joten olimme aika krapulassa tänään.. Onneksi aurinkolasit pelastavat  ;) Kokeilin eilen myös värjätä hiukset liiduilla, eli nyt mulla on liilat dipdye latvat hetken aikaa, yay! Päivän asussa se vintagekaupasta löydetty Anna Sui hame josta kerroin aikasemmin, se oli todellinen löytö!!

Vogue Japan+Chocolate Cake

Today I'm not feeling so well (might be a reaction to the harsh Tokyo wind) so I'm staying home from work browsing Vogue Japan and eating chocolate cake! Best medicine ever!
Yesterday we went vintage-shopping and I found some cute things, among them an amaaaaazing Anna Sui skirt for only 1990¥ (about 18€)! I might just wear it at the upcoming Tokyo Fashion Week... 

Tänään on heikko ja kipeä olo, buu. Oltiin eilen vintage-shoppailemassa ja Tokion kylmä tuuli tuntuu niiiin paljon kylmemmältä kuin Suomen talvi vaikka täällä oli +7astetta...brr!! 
Löysin m.m ihanan Anna Sui hameen vaan 1990¥ (18€)!! Juuri sopivasti Tokion Fashion Weekiä varten, joka alkaa nyt 17.3. Onkohan FW:issä vielä hullumpi meno kun täällä Japanissa muutenkin, ollaan tultu poikaystävän kanssa siihen tulokseen että japsit on ihania mutta tosi weirdoja :D Esimerkkinä Cat Café -sinne voi mennä deitille tai ihan vaan silittelemään kissoja tuntimaksulla.

I've grown to love accessorizing more than making a complex outfit, in this case accessorizing the hair! 60's volume and to mix it up a DIY Headband with studs. You can use the ribbon in so many different ways, I'll show you some tomorrow! :)

STHLM Fashion Week Day 1

I have been organizing our move from the appartament today so I just had time for a quick stop to see Marimekkos show today! Dressed in an all blues outfit! It was so nice to finally see some Finnish design here on th Stockholm Fashion Week :) And marimekko has taken a huge step out of the older-generation-dressing-business! Bold prints and fun colours, I think everyone enjoyed the show.

My CPH Fashion Week Looks

Three of my Copenhagen Fashionweek looks! (all very different styles I know, my mood was changing every day)
It was freeeeezing but the shows were great (We saw about 20 of them in 4 days) and I´m glad to say yet again that Henrik Vibskov never ceases to impress me! I had a wonderful time with my friend and businesspartner Emily, the week was filled with sun, loads of laughs, well-dressed people and drinks! Oh, and we also met Spike Lee at the Stockholm Fashion Week!Goodness!

We´ve seen them everywhere during this season´s fashion weeks: they´re comfy, cool, and most importantly: EASY to DIY!

Just take whatever old coat you have hanging in the wardorbe, and cut off the sleeves, cut it in pieces and unite it with parts of others coats, add some different sleeves to it, chop it, trim it, use your imagination! :) i´m gonna do one for sure aswell, from a coat I bought from the second hand market!
