Indiedays goes DIY: Cateye Sunglasses

Jeejee, Indiedays viettää nyt maaliskuussa INDIEDAYS GOES DIY-kuukautta, jonka aikana 18 suosittua bloggaajaa postaavat parhaimmat DIY-ideansa pukeutumiseen ja kotiin osoitteessa http://diy.indiedays.com/. 

Itse halusin ehdottomasti tehdä DIY-version jostain muotiviikoilla bongaamalleni trendille, ja monen kivan DIY-idean joukosta päädyin tuunaamaan Cateye-aurinkolasit. Tästä tulikin älyttömän helppo ja nopea DIY!


So the Finnish blogportal Indiedays.com is organizing a DIY-month during March! How fun is that?! 18 popular bloggers will show their coolest fashion and interior-ideas at http://diy.indiedays.com/.

I wanted to make a DIY from one of the trends seen at the fashion weeks, and after looking through heaps of inspiration pics I chose to make some Cateye-sunnies!

Tarvitset siis:                                  What you need for this DIY:
-Aurinkolasit                                   -Sunglasses 
-Nahkaa                                          -Leather
-Paperia ja sakset                           -Paper and scissors
-Superliimaa                                    -Glue

Valitsin tähän simppelit mustat (a.k.a vähän tylsät :P ) aurinkolasit. Aloitin piirtämällä cateye-muodon paperille. Kannattaa kokeilla paperin muotoa ensin lasien päällä, niin saa suoraan leikattua nahasta oikean mallisen ja kokoisen palan.

I chose black, simple (a.k.a a bit boring :P ) sunnies for this DIY. You start by drawing the shape on some paper, then trying it out on the sunglasses to get exactly the shape you want. Then use the piece to trace it on the leather.

Liimaa nahkapala lasien reunaan ja voilá, valmista on! Jätä varmuuden vuoksi lasit kuivumaan yön yli.

Glue it to the frame and voilá! I left it to dry overnight so it will stick on properly.

Näistä voisi hyvin tehdä paljon hauskoja eri versioita, esim. hopeanvärisestä muovista tai metallista! Oli pakko heti ostaa toiset valkoiset lasit jotka aivan varmasti teen samalla taktiikalla. Sky is the limit ;) Nyt on myös kokonainen kansio täynnä DIY-inspoa muotiviikoilta, eli tulen ehdottomasti tekemään seuraavien viikkojen aikana vielä pari muuta tutorialia! :)

Hello from L.A!

 

Yesterday's outfit! :) I love my new maxi with a huge slit and sewed in biker shorts! Soo comfortable and airy, perfect for running around town L.A.

Pastels & Palms.

Pastels and palms for the amusement park in Yokohama today!! The sun was super shining, perfect reboost from last nights crazy parties. We ended up in three differnt parties finally, all totally random haha!
So tonight I'm taking it easy and planning a styling for an upcoming shoot before I leave Tokyo. What are you guys up to today?

Pastelleja ja palmuja sopivasti tämän päivän teemaan: Fieldtrip Yokohaman huvipuistoon! (Jossa me oltiin muuten ainoat yli 14-vuotiaat...) Ihana aurinkoinen päivä oli täydellinen re-boost eilisistä juhlista, päädyttiin kolmeen eri bileisiin eilen, m.m Facehunterin kirjanjulkaisu juhliin. Näytän kuvia huomenna jos kehtaan :D Nyt ajattelin olla hyvä tyttö ja jäädä kotiin suunnittelemaan tulevia kuvauksia vaikka lisää juhlia olisi tiedossa...Mitä suunnitelmia teillä on tänään?:)

Good and Bad news.

Today I had my second visit to a japanese hospital during my first month stay here.. it's so scary to be sick in a country where you cannot communicate with the doctors and don't understand what the hell is going on. Apparently, I have a kidney infection, but the doctor first told me he thought I had a tumor. Not funny. Luckily I am now in bed with antibiotics, so everything should be fine...

The good thing of today is I have officially opened summer-season and started to shop for bikinis and beachwear haha! Clicked home bikini nr.2 from the collage, can't wait to try it!

Tänään jouduin toista kertaa japanilaiseen sairaalaan kuukauden aikana.. On aika pelottavaa olla kipeä maassa jossa ei pysty kommunikoimaan lääkäreiden kanssa, tai edes ymmärtämään mitä hittoa on tekeillä. Minulla on näköjään munuaistulehdus, vaikka lääkäri ensiksi kertoi luulevansa että minulla on kasvain. Not cool. Sain kuitenkin antibiootit kouraan ja olen nyt peittojen alla parantumassa..

Päivän positiiven juttu on, että minulla oli aikaa avata kesäkausi ja nettishopata uikkareita ja rantavaatteita! :D Tilasin H&Mstä kollaasin nr.2 bikinit, ah en malta odottaa!

Striped Sailor.

Outfit snapshots from the second day of Tokyo Fashion Week. So fun and useful that I have my photographer boyfriend around all the time :D Thanks babe ♥ It's been hectic, and the following weeks are going to be even MORE hectic... Work work more work and a few cool trips are coming up aswell, can't wait!!

DIY Flower Beanie

 

Yet again, another super easy, fast and cheap DIY! I loved the veiled Jil Sander Beanie that has been DIYed a lot now, and I also wanted to make something fun with one of my plain black beanies.

I was lazy and bought a plastic rose, but it's really easy to make roses out of scratch from pieces of fabric aswell. If you wanna go bold, chose a big, red rose! Mine is more like a metal version, black on black on black! Sew the rose on or simply attach it with a safety pin, and voilá! Simple as that.

Nopea, helppo ja halpa DIY! Rakastin Jil Sanderin hunnullista pipoa, jota on nähty myös monessa DIY-blogissa, joten halusin keksiä itsekkin piristystä mustaan pipooni.

Olin laiska ja ostin muoviruusun valmiina, n.1€, mutta näitä on helppo askarrella vanhoista kankaanpaloistakin. Jos olet rohkea, valitset kirkkaanpunaisen tai vaikka keltaisen ruusun. Minun versio on vähän enemmän metal, black on black on black! Ompele ruusu kiinni pipoon tai kiinnitä se hakaneulalla, voilá!

It's all about the flats!

This Spring/Summer it's all bout the flats! I gathered my online-favourites in this collage, I'm totally imagining all of these with white jeans and a white t-shirt in spring.
Studs are still in the picture, as are metallics! I even grew on liking the rubber shoes from Chicnova, allthough they sligthly remind me of hospital shoes with a twist... oh well! Got yourself a favourite?
Mine are the cutout shoes from DSW or the cool golden ones from Asos!

Tänä keväänä/kesänä laitan korot piiloon ja keskityn mataliin kenkiin! Keräsin tähän kollaasiin omat online-suosikit tältä sesongilta. Pystyn niin kuvittelemaan jokaiset näistä kokovalkoisen farkku-tpaita lookin kanssa ah!
Niitit ovat näköjään vieläkin mukana trendeissä, ja kiiltävä metalli myös! Alan jopa tottua Chicnovan valkoisiin muovikenkiin vaikka ne muistuttavat heikosti tuunattuja sairaalakenkiä...

Model Crush: Chloe Norgaard.

You might have seen her already in the Nicole Miller or Marimekko runways, or in magazines and editorials! I love how she doesn't want to "fit in" with the rest of the models, but is wanted high on the casting list because of her inspirational style in clothes and rainbow coloured hair! I wish I one day would have the courage to have "tie-dye" hair too.

Siis ah mikä tyttö! Todella inspiroivaa että joku haluaa kulkea vastavirtaan mallimaailmassa eikä sulautua kaikkien muiden tuhansien mallien joukkoon, vaan ylpeänä edustaa omaa tyyliään. Rakastan hänen aina-vaihtuvia sateenkaarihiuksia ja rähjäistä punk vintage-tyyliä. Mun on ehkä myös pakko hankkia pinkki jakkupuku näiden kuvien jälkeen...

Today's and Tokyo Dreamin'

Today's.  I still haven't got tired of combing my lime green Acne sweater to everything in my closet, that's a good sign it's a piece that will last! I was a bit worried I would get tired of the colour but so far so good ;)

Some big news for me right now is we finally bought our flights tickets!! So the 10th of February, me and my boyfriend will go to Hong Kong to visit some friends, and then move to Tokyo!!
I can't wait! New culture, new city, new everything...so excited!!! Anyone been to Tokyo before? Do you have some advice/hints for good areas/bars/shopping etc?

Today's! Who said flowers and pastels are not for the winter??These colours give me strength for the long await for warmer weather!
A bit girly girly I know, but hey, sometimes you need to create the sunshine and rainbows if you don't have them ;) Now I'll go for a session at the physiotherapist for my neck and then I'll catch the boat to Finland! (Sounds like I'm catching a bus haha, not a 12hour boatride...)

Trackpants.

 

Even if I feel the trackpant trend is over,  I couldn't help but click in on a closer view on these trackpants from asos.com. They look perfect for winter, I especially like the cool pattern of pant nr.1(besides they look sooo soft and warm) and the quilted pant nr.2!

I came by these shoes when I was browsing streetstyle on The Sartorialist, and I think they are very easy to DIY! Just glue pearls to shoes, shoulders on a blazer, a bag, anything... pearls are so in right now, so it's a cool way to pimp up some old boring stuff you can fins in your closet!

Obsession: Cross Stitch

I am currently obsessed with cross stitching. That slightly ugly, granny-like old stitching just seems so... so cool to me right now! Just have a look at these Alexander McQueen men's cross stitched loafers! So amazing! You can basicly cross stitch any picture, as long as you draw it first you'll get it nice and clean. I can smell a DIY coming up...

DIY Metal Belt

 

This aluminium belt was so easy to make! I just asked the boys at a hardware shop to cut me a piece with the measurments i needed, and then i bent it to fit my waist! Super easy, and i love how minimalistic it is and how well it goes with everything in my closet.

Long Bob.

 

When I was living in Barcelona, I modelled for different hair-product brands such as Wella and L'oreal. After two years and a LOT of different hairstyles I got so tired of people deciding about my hair I started saying no to jobs and just letting it grow. No colours, no cuts, I just let it grow. Now, 2 years later, the only time I coloured my hair was when I made it super red, and then let it slowly faint into a straberry blonde and then back to my orginal colour. It's so long now, and I'm SO sick of it.

Thus, time for a change! I fell in love with these two girls I found randomly on the internet, so I might be going towards a long bob with my hair aswell. I just need to figure out something extra to it, like a nice colour or something special, to not make it so classic. The "Outgrown red" is just gorgeous!
